This East Midlands-based company is a well-established, profitable and growing subsidiary of a large European Group. It supplies innovative surfacing products and systems to the sports and playground sectors. Sales are made through several channels and are for branded and commodity products. This strategic and influential position will provide the opportunity to make your mark in the continuing development of products for this market leading company.
Reporting to a Segment Head based overseas, you will plan and manage the group playground product and service offerings from a strategic perspective through the whole lifecycle.
You will be commercially responsible for the product/service portfolio, involved at all stages of product development and refinement to optimise the economic value of the product and service portfolio and increase the Playground segment’s market share.
The position will also be responsible for product/service positioning in the respective target markets, for identifying and delivering key market messages to support the sales team and to identify new markets and opportunities through product and market analysis.
Project management will also involve working with the sales team to identify growth potential of existing global markets for future products and services as well as new business opportunities. You will also support the wider product management team in Switzerland in defining, initialising and leading product/service innovation projects.
You will take the lead role in managing and resolving technical enquiries from customers and the sales team.
Although the role is based in the East Midlands, the appointed candidate will be expected to commit to a reasonable amount of travel, some of which will be international. Some relocation assistance will be made available to strong candidates if required.
Of graduate calibre and preferably with a technical qualification, strong candidates must have in depth product management experience gained in a business to business context.
Strong candidates will have experience in successfully developing and delivering a B2B product growth strategy within the building products sector.
Although not essential, we are also interested in specific knowledge of playground surfacing or specialist flooring markets, including knowledge of installation techniques.
Commercially astute, entrepreneurial and highly committed, strong applicants will also be accomplished project managers able to gain the support of colleagues and drive projects to completion.
An independent self-starter, you should have good, all round management competence with the determination to complete projects and deliver against challenging goals. An additional language would also be an advantage.
