Every day around the world, thousands of children enjoy running, climbing, jumping and swinging in playgrounds with a CONICA safety surface made, in part, from recycled materials. Your challenge will be to maximise the profitability and market share of the playground element of the CONICA business.
It’s a position that could be a great fit if you’re in the early stages of your marketing or product management career – or potentially if you are a recent graduate with ambition and potential.
Reporting directly to the UK Commercial Director, you will own the playground product and service offerings from a strategic perspective, through the whole lifecycle.
Amongst other offerings within the Playground product range, CONICA supplies its globally renowned and innovative brand Playtop® from the Newark plant. Playtop® operates by supplying full systems, know-how and marketing support to a network of licensees, who sell and install the Playtop® system in their home markets.
As you will be commercially responsible for the entire portfolio, you will get involved at all stages of product development and refinement – there is a strong element of project management. You will also have the opportunity to shape the product/service positioning in the respective target markets and to identify and deliver key go-to-market messages.
It will be important to build strong relationships with the Commercial team to identify market growth potential and new business opportunities. You will also work closely with the wider product management team (in Switzerland) to get innovation projects off the ground, driving them through to completion.
You will also be responsible for managing and resolving technical queries from customers and the sales team, turning problems into solutions.
You will be a graduate, ideally with a degree or diploma in marketing or a related subject – you could currently be studying towards CIM qualifications.
It is essential that you are commercially minded, driven, dynamic and highly creative. An independent, motivated self-starter, you should be determined to complete projects and deliver against challenging goals to affect strategic growth. Your project management skills will enable you to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders at varying levels.
It is helpful if you have experience of developing and delivering B2B product growth strategies, ideally within the building products sector (technical training will be provided in surfacing technology and installation techniques).
As international travel is involved, it’s advantageous to have an additional language.
