With 5000 employees, global sales of €1.5bn and 20 manufacturing plants, the company continues to invest and innovate in order to develop and deliver the finest products for its customers. This division produces boards, MDF and decorative panels for the construction sector and is now looking to appoint into this key position to further develop the company’s presence in the UK market.

The Challenge

To assume total responsibility for sales through distributors in the UK & Ireland.

To expand the distributor base and strive to achieve genuine partnership working to the benefit of both parties.

To report information on the UK market to the central marketing function in order to shape product development and ensure that new products enable the company to achieve profitable sales growth in the UK & Ireland.

To develop close working relationships with distributors by providing product training, marketing support and attending meetings with key customers.

To interact with the specification sales function in order to be aware of project activity.

The Candidate

You should have proven experience in a commercial, customer-facing role in the construction products sector, ideally with an understanding of decorative products targeted at the interiors, fit-out and shopfitting sectors. However, a background in other construction products would also be appropriate.

You should have successfully grown sales, ideally having managed distributors and will understand the requirements of different stakeholders in the construction sector – specifiers, contractors and distributors.

You should have excellent interpersonal skills which enable you to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with customers at senior levels.
